Il commento Uno dei film più genuinamente spassosi che abbia visto negli ultimi anni, The Producers affianca uno script pungente e satirico a prove attoriali geniali e una messa in scena di Broadway che è una parodia, ma quasi indistinguibile dalla realtà. Leggermente invecchiato in alcune rappresentazioni (la svedese e il figlio dei fiori, che divertono in quanto testimonianze del periodo ma hanno perso significato), è un film che ha ancora un sacco da insegnare su come fare un film divertente.
