Il commento Come la precedente, il piacere della serie è un po’ oscurato dal fatto che sia un po’ troppo lunga e alla fine stuficchia. Anche meno compatta della precedente, si sfaccetta in più sottotrame, ma i personaggi continuano a funzionare egregiamente.

Il commento Metti in mano a due ragazzotti della periferia napoletana un telefono dicendo di “fare un film” e guarda cosa succede. Ci sono momenti più interessanti e antropologicamente validi, altri più “meh”, però complessivamente il film riesce nell’idea di fornire una rappresentazione viva dell’ambiente, molto più delle fiction analoghe. Un po’ di meno nel capire cosa passa per la testa dei protagonisti Alessandro e Piero.

Il commento Il mio primo Rohmer, mi ha colpito perché pur essendo un film molto parlato, a volte un filo troppo, usa perfettamente la grammatica visiva dei film, integrando perfettamente scene che spiegano senza parole, a volte solo con un’espressione o un atteggiamento. Il piccolo melodramma marinaro per il resto funziona bene, con bravi attori. Fa un po’ ridere che il “cattivo”, l’uomo affascinante e viscido che tesse trame, assomigli a Checco Zalone.

Il commento B-movie dell’Era Atomica, con tanti fondali di cartone, riprese al risparmio, ingenuità e wtf, nonché l’inevitabile messaggio di avvertimento contro le armi atomiche, ma anche tanta speranza per il futuro e fiducia nella scienza. Ambientato in un 1982 che è un posto migliore di quello che è stato in realtà. Astronave con bel design.

Il commento Il seguito di Train to Busan è un classico film di zombie, senza particolari guizzi ma realizzato abbastanza bene. C’è un po’ di Mad Max, un po’ dello spunto poi usato (male) in Army of the dead, zombi corridori e Seul devastata. Un discreto e molto poco realistico inseguimento tra auto e camion in mezzo agli zombi. In generale, abbastanza per intrattenere, non sufficiente per essere ricordato. Mi aspettavo, dal titolo e dai primi minuti, che si parlasse di Corea del Nord, ma l’argomento è stato ignorato. Peccato, poteva essere uno spunto valido.

Il commento La seconda stagione della serie sui “medici buoni” è abbastanza ok, ma arranca un po’ qua e là. Non so se vedrò la terza.

Interessantissimo librino sulla straordinaria complessità della società di queste formiche, che creano colonie con milioni di individui e architetture complesse, coltivano funghi, hanno caste ultraspecializzate e tecniche di raccolta raffinate. Una fetta di natura poco conosciuta e sorprendente.
Il libro è relativamente tecnico (alcune volte mi son dovuto fermare per cercare un termine non incluso nel glossario) e focalizzato sull’etologia, ottimamente corredato di foto e illustrazioni, e scritto e tradotto anche piuttosto bene. Lo si legge rapidamente e con piacere. Mi sarebbe solo piaciuto un approfondimento sul concetto di superorganismo, che è trattato piuttosto superficialmente: se la singola formica è un essere quasi demente, come avviene il salto per il quale una colonia è un’entità così intelligente?

Il commento Il film in rotoscopio di Linklater usa uno spunto surreale (un bambino inviato nello spazio prima dell’Apollo XI) per narrare la quotidianità della vita negli anni ‘60 e trasmettere l’aria di progresso e di immensa fiducia nel futuro che accompagnava l’“era spaziale”. Ne viene fuori un film col giusto livello di nostalgia, piacevole, col solo dubbio che il rotoscopio è raramente usato in modo sensato, e appare solo come un gimmick estetizzante.
