Il commento Cupo come solo un film tedesco sul terrorismo politico degli anni ‘70 può essere, il film di von Trotta si focalizza sul rapporto tra due sorelle, una giornalista e una terrorista, e del loro rapporto di complicità fatta di contrasti. Il film non ha paura di ellissi temporali e a volte anche narrative, ma rimane la sensazione che la regista sia stata costretta a tagliare più che aver fatto questa scelta. Frase chiave: “Se tu fossi nata una generazione prima, saresti stata nazista”.

Il commento Curioso mumblecore che sembra essere un meta-slasher sottogenere cabin in the woods, ma che in realtà si focalizza unicamente sui personaggi e le loro relazioni, e lo fa anche piuttosto bene. C’è Greta Gerwig come attrice, che recita anche in topless. Wow.

Il commento La cosa migliore di questo film è l’atmosfera drammatica che parte da premesse di commedia (“il ragazzino genio detective”) che si sviluppa in tematiche quasi hard boiled e che conduce a un finale davvero molto dark. La parte “gialla” non è eccelsa, il passaggio logico fondamentale presenta un salto deduttivo eccessivo, ma tutto sommato non è un brutto film.

Il commento Capolavorone gigante di John Carpenter, “La cosa” è un horror costruito alla perfezione, con una tensione latente sottolineata da un Ennio Morricone anomalo ma sul pezzo, tutto costruito sulla tensione e la paranoia. Non tutto torna (su tutte, un’Antartide col ciclo giorno-notte) ma è irrilevante. E poi, come è girato! La scena iniziale con l’elicottero è pazzesca. Molto influente (Resident Evil!), come i grandi film ispira a vederci quello che si vuole.

Il commento Si perde mezzo punto per il finale da facepalm, ma comunque è una commedia romantica poco più che sufficiente, con una graziosa e insopportabile Zoey Dechanel e comprimari che vengono presentati ma non riescono a emergere. Il gimmick di andare avanti e indietro nel tempo, non originalissimo, non è neanche particolarmente usato bene. Però un pochino commuove e diverte.

Il commento Film cubano di fantascienza molto alla lontana, è in realtà un film che parla di Cuba e della rivoluzione, e di come la promessa del socialismo abbia tradito e lasciato indietro molte persone. E’ un film dolceamaro, in cui la satira a volte sconfina nella parodia: la parte migliore è l’addestramento paramilitare al viaggio nello spazio, il modo più tremendo per rendere triste una festa.

Il commento Immaculate è un horror di genere “suore” bello pulitino, meno di 90’, ben girato e recitato, senza tempi morti e con un sacco di temi infilati dentro e un finale molto soddisfacente. E un chiodo della Vera Croce di Chechov! L’ambientazione italiana, con attori italiani, è nella direzione dell’omaggio ai film di suore anni ‘70, con anche colonna sonora con citazioni.

Il commento Non è certo Fury Road, che per me è Cinema Totale, ma è comunque un buon film con azione girata molto bene, qualche passaggio poco chiaro e qualche lungaggine nel finale. E a cosa serve la CGI quando hai l’Australia a disposizione per gli scenari?

Il commento Un film A24 che è un po’ una parodia di un film A24: molto esile, spiega poco, si concentra sui personaggi (ma senza riuscirci molto). E’ sostanzialmente un film di pandemia contaminato con una specie di home invasion, però, in breve, non riesce proprio a essere interessante. Non si capisce cosa dovrebbe venire di notte.

Il commento Il film è dedicato a Kika, ma è interessante notare come sia una spettatrice passiva di tutto quello che le accade intorno; l’immagine più nota del film è infatti quella di Andreas, cioè Victoria Abril, col suo costume con telecamera in testa. E anche se l’autoreferenzialità col cinema e la tv è comune in Almodovar, in Kika tutto è schermo, ripresa, macchine fotografiche, al limite specchi o spiate, e tutto coloratissimo: c’è chiaramente una satira della tv degli anni ‘90 pre-reality ma tutto sommato ancora attuale. Il film è girato molto bene, anche se l’impianto thriller funziona fino a un certo punto e ogni tanto gira abbastanza a vuoto. Misteriosa la motivazione del titolo italiano.
