Il commento Continuo a pensare che in New Girl funzionino meglio le situazioni e le battute rispetto ai personaggi, che ho sempre l’impressione che siano sfuocati e si comportino un po’ a caso. Ciononostante è una sit-com divertente e alla terza stagione non ha ancora saltato lo squalo.

Il commento Colpa mia che mi aspettavo una versione di The Newsroom, ma questa serie in cui tutti sono persone orribili, meschine, vigliacche ognuno a modo suo mi ha dato proprio repulsione. Nonostante un bel cast, quando arrivato al quinto episodio ho iniziato a fare il countdown per la fine della stagione, mi sono arreso e ho deciso che non fa per me. A parte la totale mancanza di empatia coi personaggi, mi è parsa anche scritta così così e davvero troppo moscetta.

Il commento Una bella sorpresa questa serie, che riesce a mettere insieme fantastoria, fantascienza e fantapolitica: il “what if” dei russi che arrivano sulla Luna prima degli americani e quindi la corsa allo spazio continua è appassionante. Al netto di qualche lungaggine (ma perché gli episodi devono durare per forza un’ora?) è una serie coinvolgente, con diversi momenti topici e decisamente imprevedibile. Non ho la minima idea di come andrà avanti, e sono molto curioso.

Il commento La seconda stagione inizia in sordina, con alcuni episodi piuttosto sfuocati, ma piano piano sale di intensità man mano che si svelano gli intrighi e i destini dei personaggi, fino a un finale che, non me lo aspettavo, mi ha lasciato voglia di altro Star Wars. Non è una cosa da poco, per me.

Il commento La quarta stagione di 70s show è molto lunga (27 episodi!) e forse un po’ più debole delle precedenti. Meno spazio al mio personaggio preferito (Hyde) e molto focus sugli amorazzi. Ma è pur sempre una serie spassosa e adorabile.

Il commento In un momento in cui le serie sembrano un po’ tutte uguali, Vince Vinnighan si concede un “e ora, qualcosa di completamente diverso”, con una serie di fantascienza che, come la migliore SF, affronta temi sociali. Ognuno potrà vedere quello che vuole nei pluribi (AI? un partito politico? una fazione?) ma alla fine non è così importante. Quello che conta è un personaggio adorabilmente insopportabile come Carol e il fatto che la serie va in direzioni assolutamente imprevedibili, e che ci si prende tutto il tempo necessario senza annoiare mai.

Il commento Una stagione troppo poco, due troppo tanto, ma una volta iniziata la seconda stagione, almeno falla per bene, e non di nuovo con un finale affrettato. E rimane un peccato, perché le ragazze di Lady Parts sono adorabili, belle le loro canzoni, avvincenti le loro singole storie. Migliore la prima stagione, in ogni caso.

Il commento Serie che qualcuno ha osannato nei primi episodi (a mio parere non così diversi dagli altri) non ha mantenuto le promesse. È una fan fiction di It, che deve per forza inventarsi una lore elaboratissima quando il bello di It è l’impalpabilità del mostro (e ragione per cui il finale del libro è deludente). Riescono persino a scopiazzare il Signore degli Anelli, e a inventarsi un Kingverso che mette in relazione Shining con It, e anche a parlare di pensiero quadrimensionale. Però, devo ammettere che tutto sommato mi son divertito. Non so se la rivedrei, non so se vedrò un’ipotetica seconda stagione.

Il commento New Girl ci mette un po’ a partire, a far trovare un’identità a personaggi inizialmente o mal definiti o macchiettistici, ma direi che ci riesce, e le puntate girano meglio, sono anche più divertenti. Rimane ogni tanto la sensazione che i personaggi si comportino a casaccio, ma nel corso della stagione si limano anche questi difetti.

Il commento Passano gli anni, ma Only Murder in the Building non perde un briciolo del suo smalto. Certo, le situazioni sono improbabili, grottesche e paradossali, ma il trio è sempre più compatto, i comprimari sempre più adorabili, e, insomma la voglia di vedere come va a finire c’è sempre.
