Il commento Film di Sorrentino poco conosciuto, presenta due vite parallele di uomini in difficoltà che a un certo punto, in modo inaspettato, si intrecciano. C’è molta umanità ed empatia in queste figure assai imperfette e autodistruttive (ognuna a modo suo) e anche se Servillo servilleggia un po’ troppo e c’è qualche scena onirica poco riuscita, l’impatto emotivo è notevole.

Il commento Il nuovo Almodovar mi è piaciuto molto, ma: a) l’ho visto in italiano, e il doppiaggio l’ha ammazzato male, soprattutto Julianne Moore b) non riesco a togliermi dalla testa che l’ambientazione americana abbia tolto qualcosa. Anche se la città e il bosco erano neutri e c’erano diversi spagnoli nel cast, trovo che se fosse stato in Spagna ci sarebbe stato più calore, più profondità. Ma forse è un preoconcetto da almodovariano. Gli si rimprovera inoltre una ricerca della perfezione formale che pur essendo splendida, si sta un po’ perdendo nel gelo. Però è davvero uno splendido e doloroso film.

Il commento Più action che horror, con un po’ di ultraviolenza anestetizzante stile the Boys, qualche spunto preso da What we do in the shadows, Reinfeld tutto sommato è un film di vampiri moderno con un buon ritmo e abbastanza divertente. Il discorso sugli “eroi” che prova a fare non è molto riuscito. Nicholas Cage, come sempre, si diverte un sacco a fare il matto.

Il commento Continuo a non andare pazzo per questa serie, è così malvagia che va prese a piccole dosei, ma devo ammettere che talvolta ha davvero delle ottime trovate.

Credo che Lansdale si sia divertito a scrivere questo racconto lungo (romanzo breve?) di Lansdale, soprattutto per il suo evidente tentativo di battere ogni record di uso della N-word, sfruttando l’ambientazione texana del 1900 e parlando di un combattimento di un bianco contro un nero. Ma non solo per questo: c’è una bella ricostruzione di una città marittima andata distrutta dall’eponimo uragano, la descrizione degli abissi di corruzione di un pugile impunito, molte pennellate su personaggi che compaiono per poco ma riescono a rimanere impressi. L’autore non si allontana dalla sua comfort zone, ma c’è davvero tanto mestiere in questa storia, ed avercene di scrittori come lui.

Il commento Allo spettatore italiano molte scene di questo film ricorderanno Chiquito e Paquito, però c’è di più della parodia delle telenovele: il film ha anche riferimenti alla realtà cilena (sinceramente per me incomprensibili) e gioca con la sovrapposizione dei piani di realtà, coi personaggi delle novelas che a volte sono consapevoli di esserlo o guardano a loro volta le telenovelas. Il film alla fine, forse anche perché postumo, risulta frammentario e non completamente riuscito, ma ci sono delle idee.

Il commento Una delle commedie più spassose viste di recente, lungi dall’essere una biografia del cantante scioccherello americano ne è una fan fiction, con numerosi ribaltamenti di prospettiva e un sacco di idee divertenti, sovrapponendo realtà e fantasia. Forse un pochino debole a metà film, ma si riprende, eccome.

Il commento Uno di quei casi in cui “era meglio il libro”, che arrivava al nucleo del racconto (le “Magdalene”) di traverso, parlando delle tribolazioni quotidiane e delle inquietudini di un carbonaio irlandese. Qua invece è molto meno raffinato, ma comunque gli attori son bravi, l’Irlanda in inverno è ben poco pittoresca, ci si indigna il giusto.

Il commento Heist movie degli anni ‘60, ha un piglio da commedia piuttosto moderno e la scena del “colpo” è ben pensata e spettacolare, e direi anche molto influente. Indugia, a mio gusto, un po’ troppo nelle scene etnologiche sulla Turchia degli anni ‘60 e alla fine è piuttosto ingenuo. Non capisco se la protagonista femminile è previsto che sia sexy o se è una parodia.
