Primo Levi torna alla sua esperienza nel Lager dopo tanti anni, questa volta nella forma di un saggio. Il suo pensiero e la sua scrittura come sempre sono lucidissimi, precisi e acuti. Le parti a mio avviso più interessanti sono quelle del capitolo sulla “vergogna”, che esplorano i sentimenti dei sopravvissuti, e quelle sulla “zona grigia”, ovvero come la divisione tra buoni e cattivi, nazisti ed ebrei, gatti e topi, non sia mai così netta. Se “La tregua” aveva il suo senso nel creare un distacco tra il Lager e la vita civile ma era meno necessario, “I sommersi e i salvati” è un libro indispensabile per analizzare l’orrore a distanza di anni.
E infine, come è immensamente triste sentire Levi che parla dei sopravvissuti che a distanza di anni si sono suicidati.

Il commento Il documentario di Pasolini, oltre a rivelare un’Italia moralmente piccola e arretrata, è interessante per il campionario di facce, voci e ambienti che mostra, e per mostrare quanto dannatamente era intelligente PPP, soprattutto se confrontato ai tromboni con cui parla.

Il commento Film un po’ senile, nel senso che Allen ripropone temi, personaggi e situazioni già visti un po’ dappertutto: il cinema, le donne, la psicanalisi, la cultura; eppure è sempre fatto con grazia, strappa qualche sorriso e a tratti punge. Bel finale.

Devo dire di essermi avvicinato un po’ dubbioso a questo libro, in quanto lo immaginavo della categoria “vegani abbraccia-alberi che vogliono farti sentire in colpa se mangi il pollo”. Tutt’altro: Pollan compie una lucidissima analisi del nostro rapporto con l’alimentazione, toccando argomenti come l’industria del cibo capitalistica più agghiacciante, le fattorie bucoliche, la caccia, la raccolta, la filosofia del vegetarianesimo e del veganesimo. Non dà molte risposte, tanto che alla fine mi è rimasta l’impressione di “non c’è soluzione”, ma fornisce tantissimi elementi di riflessione. E’ un libro che consiglio pienamente.
