Il commento Film per bambini tratto da un fumetto polacco, ne ho dormito una bella fetta, ma mi è parso davverso poco incisivo e mal realizzato. Lo spunto “meta” dell’atuore che entra nella storia si esaurisce presto; computer grafica 3d primitiva, gag infantili: è un film per bambini, d’accordo, ma non un buon film per bambini.

Il commento Un film di Woody Allen non dei migliori, animato. Promosso come film sull’Alzheimer, che in realtà è solo uno dei temi che tratta (peraltro con delicatezza e senza pietismo o troppi drammi), in generale intorno alla psicanalisi e ai rapporti tra persone, insistendo soprattutto sul concetto di dipendenza dagli altri e di libertà individuale. Un finale che richiede molta sospensione dell’incredulità incornicia uno di quei film per cui ti chiedi: “Ma perché l’hanno fatto animato?” e per cui ti rispondi “Ma perché no? E’ bello così”.

Il commento Una storia del compianto Toriyama che mette insieme il gusto per il design dell’autore, l’aspetto più infantile e umoristico del primo Dragonball e quello drammatico e di azione della stessa opera nelle fasi più avanzate. I giapponesi hanno imparato a usare la CG, in quello stile pittorico inaugurato da Slam Dunk, e il film è davvero un piacere da tutti i punti di vista. Quanto ci mancherai, Akira!

Il commento Attraverso una storia biografica di un musicista (che non conoscevo,), si ha un’immersione nella cultura psichedelica degli anni ‘70 , in una storia tra New York e Maiorca piena di droga, musica e bei corpi giovani e spesso nudi. La tecnica pseudo-rotoscopio viene innestata su una grande varietà di stili, dal realistico all’onirico. Mezzo documentario, mezzo musical, mezzo film nostalgico degli anni ‘70, non eccelle in nessuna categoria ma nemmeno fallisce completamente l’obiettivo.

Il commento Questo film è stata una discreta sorpresa, perché non ci si aspettava molto da un anime che funge da prequel a Gegege no Kitaro di Shotaro Mizuki. Si tratta di un thriller horror a base di mostri giapponesi, ma che riesce a incastrare in modo naturale nella storia il clima del Giappone post-bellico, tra pentimento, volontà di rivalsa e una certa dose di rancore. La storia di successione dinastica va in questa direzione e anche se a volte manca qualche cosa a chi non conosce il manga (come il sottoscritto), la trama dà soddisfazione. Design molto lontano dal grottesco umoristico di Mizuki e forse un po’ piatto, anche come regia.

Il commento Elliot fa sempre lo stesso film, ma lo fa sempre meglio. Tratta dei ricordi di una ragazza ai margini della società che vive una vita costellata di disgrazie ma illuminata dal coraggio e dalla volontà di vivere: è lo stesso esatto tema di Harvey Krumpet. Realizzato con maestria, riesce a commuovere anche se a volte la sceneggiatura, analizzata a freddo, ha dei passaggi forzati. Però pazienza, l’entusiasmo e la lacrimuccia non mancheranno.

Il commento Yang Zhigang ha visto e apprezzato Mononoke Hime, ha voluto rifarlo in salsa cinese, ma non è certo Miyazaki, soprattutto a livello di sceneggiatura: il film è molto parlato, spiegato e risulta spesso poco comprensibile, magari anche per cattiva traduzione (però se non spiegano le immagini c’è un problema). Tuttavia, visivamente viene trovato uno stile originale, chiaro e gradevole, a metà tra anime e Disney. Questo è quanto salva il film, per il resto dimenticabile.

Molto carino Resident Evil 4! A parte la trama, che è una sciocchezza, e la grafica un po’ datata, ha meccaniche di base molto ben eqilibrate e fa lo sforzo di mantenere viva l’attenzione proponendo molte variazioni. Me lo son proprio goduto.

Il commento Cupo come solo un film tedesco sul terrorismo politico degli anni ‘70 può essere, il film di von Trotta si focalizza sul rapporto tra due sorelle, una giornalista e una terrorista, e del loro rapporto di complicità fatta di contrasti. Il film non ha paura di ellissi temporali e a volte anche narrative, ma rimane la sensazione che la regista sia stata costretta a tagliare più che aver fatto questa scelta. Frase chiave: “Se tu fossi nata una generazione prima, saresti stata nazista”.

Il commento Curioso mumblecore che sembra essere un meta-slasher sottogenere cabin in the woods, ma che in realtà si focalizza unicamente sui personaggi e le loro relazioni, e lo fa anche piuttosto bene. C’è Greta Gerwig come attrice, che recita anche in topless. Wow.
