Il commento Forse il film più genuinamente divertente e divertito della saga di Evangelion, mette per un attimo in secondo piano depressione e segoni mentali per mostrare botte tra robot e mostri, misteri ed evolvere i rapporti tra i personaggi invece che sviscerarli da dentro.

Il commento Film grandioso nell’allestimento, nelle location, nella ricerca del linguaggio, con un Gassman perfettamente in parte, Moderatamente divertente, è in realtà il complesso delle cose a renderlo memorabile, non il singolo episodio. Notevole la prima scena, particolarmente violenta, che si stacca dal mood del resto del film.

Il commento L’idea di un mondo dell’aldilà più vivo e colorato non è nuova ma perfettamente coerente con lo spirito di Tim Burton, e tutto sommato banalotta. La cosa migliore del film è tuttavia la recitazione dei pupazzi, soprattutto Emily, davvero straordinaria. Film forse non necessario, ma non sgradito.

Il commento Il primo film della riedizioni di Evangelion è poco più di un riassuntone delle prime sei puntate, fatte meglio (ma non così tanto) e con qualche piccola variazione sufficiente a fibrillare i fan e gettare la basi dei film successivi.

Il commento Il miglior film di Goro reca l’impronta di Hayao, che probabilmente ha diretto anche qualche scena, è un vividissimo quadro di un periodo poco sfruttato del Giappone, a base di melodramma e spirito della gioventù.

Con questo volumone con cinque libri più una raccolta di racconti, mi son sciroppato l’intera saga di Terramare in poco più di un mese. Si tratta di un fantasy che mescola alcuni elementi classici, quasi da canone Tolkeniano, come il setting medievaleggiante, il passato glorioso che vive in forma di leggenda, i grandi eroi, i draghi, il potere dei nomi, la magia e i maghi (più diffusi e quotidiani che in Tolkien), ma con qualche importante differenza. Ci sono i grandi re, i grandi maghi, ma molti protagonisti sono gente umile, e in ogni caso ma la prospettiva è sempre dal basso. Questa modestia si riflette anche nella scrittura, mai roboante, ma sempre dimessa, calma, colma di rispetto, senza paura di ellissi audaci. Sembra a volte di sentire una nonna raccontare una fiaba. E un’altra innovazione in un mondo conservatore come quello del fantasy è l’attenzione dedicata alle figure femminili, che risultano sempre le più interessanti e sfaccettate, nonché il continuo riferirsi all’emancipazione femminile.
Non tutta la saga è all’altezza, alcune parti arrancano, soprattutto la prima metà del terzo libro e del quarto, e a volte si ha la sensazione che Le Guin volesse “fare volume”.
Pare paradossale riferirsi in questi termini a una saga iniziata cinquant’anni fa che poi è stata anche seminale, ma l’ho trovata una lettura fresca e originale.

Il commento Uno spunto molto originale e stuzzicante (“e se tutti dimenticassero i Beatles tranne uno?”) trasfigurato in una commedia romantica, ben scritta, recitata e girata. Qualche piccolo passaggio a vuoto, una satira dell’industria musicale fuori tempo massimo, ma nel complesso una bella sorpresa.

Il commento Un buon thriller claustrofobico, con un world building che si dipana piano piano. Qualche piccolo passaggio a vuoto nella fase centrale, qualche dettaglio che non torna completamente, ma la tensione c’è e il finale è soddisfacente.

Il commento Il documentario di Pasolini, oltre a rivelare un’Italia moralmente piccola e arretrata, è interessante per il campionario di facce, voci e ambienti che mostra, e per mostrare quanto dannatamente era intelligente PPP, soprattutto se confrontato ai tromboni con cui parla.
