Il commento Non è certo Fury Road, che per me è Cinema Totale, ma è comunque un buon film con azione girata molto bene, qualche passaggio poco chiaro e qualche lungaggine nel finale. E a cosa serve la CGI quando hai l’Australia a disposizione per gli scenari?

Il commento La risposta coreana ai marvel movie è un folle film che mette insieme wuxia e fantascienza di vari generi (alieni, viaggi nel tempo, robot) ambientandolo in parte nel 1300 e in parte nel presente. Funziona fino a un certo punto: ci sono troppi personaggi, con ruoli incerti; le scenette comiche sono gradite ma quasi sempre cringe; la lore non è chiarissima, anzi, diciamo pure che è molto confusa. Eppure son due ore di divertimento con le botte wuxia che trovo sempre colme di grazia contro i raggi laser e tentacoli alieni. Non è poco. Però, scoprendo al finale che era solo metà storia, mi son scocciato. Ce n’era già abbastanza.

Il commento Titolo azzeccatissimo per quest film con un cast all-star (Servillo, Mastandrea, Favino - pelato - e Giannini), formalmente eccezionale nel suo narrare la fine di un certo tipo di criminalità in una Roma dall’atmosfera apocalittica (il caldo, gli incendi, i blackout, il traffico, è tutto spaventosamente reale). Rimane il fatto che lo spunto di trama è un pretesto davvero poco sensato ed esile per così tanta grazia. Mastandrea gigantesco come sempre, ma forse di più.

Il commento Il terzo film di Evangelion, ovvero quando smette di far finta di esser qualcosa di simile a quanto c’è nella serie. Dopo un inizio molto d’azione c’è una fase centrale molto tranquilla e quasi meditativa, in cui allo spettatore pare anche di averci capito qualcosa. Nessun problema: ci pensa il finale a farti tornare al tuo posto. Molta CG invecchiata assai male, ahimè.

Il commento Meno esaltante del primo film perché molto più Marvel nel senso peggiore del termine, a colpi di citazioni, continuity, superproblemi, scene d’azione troppo lunghe e stucchevoli. Rimane però un capolavoro dal punto di vista grafico, l’evoluzione che gli SpiderMan moderni hanno portato al cinema di animazione rimarrà alla storia.

Il commento Non è privo di meriti il film di Guadagnino: innanzitutto di aver portato al cinema il tennis con una resa sonora e visiva che nessuno aveva mai fatto, poi una colonna sonora che, anche se non sempre azzeccata in piena, è sempre sorprendennte, e poi il fatto che ci siano tantissime invenzioni. E questo è anche uno dei difetti: troppo spesso la soluzione registica prevale sulla storia, e risulta “over-directed”. Ma non solo: i personaggi sono scritti male, e spesso sembra che si comportinino a casaccio piuttosto che seguire un arco; il film ha numerosi tempi morti e Zendaya è tanto caruccia quanto inepressiva. E poi, alla fine, la storia non è un granché. Non credo sarà un film che ricorderemo a lungo.

Il commento Una storia di guerra con ambientazione post-apocalittica, con molti dei canoni del genere, e focalizzata sul ruolo dei giornalisti. Il difetto principale per me è la mancanza di equilibrio sulla stampa di guerra: o sono in mezzo all’azione, o sono bersagli. Entrambi gli estremi mi son parsi troppo netti rispetto a una realtà più sfuocata. A parte questo, la parte centrale del film è debole e strascicata, ma il film ha anche dei grandi meriti. Bei personaggi, buoan recitazione, un approccio che non spiega e che è gradito (non serve sapere come è nata la guerra civile, solo la storia raccontata all’interno di essa) e una mezzora finale che è una sequenza di guerra straordinaria.

Il commento Un protoslasher del ‘71 con alcuni degli stilemi diventati canonici in seguito, ha la particolarità di un intrigo non particolarmente chiaro, e un massacro totale di tutti i personaggi, senza eccezioni (altro che final girl!). Ed è girato benissimo: si vede che Argento è stato pesantemente influenzato da Bava. Effettacci plastici efficaci per un film piuttosto cruento.

Il commento Il primo film dei Coen è già piuttosto raffinato e maturo, con una poco riconoscibile Frances McDormand in veste da femme fatale. La prima parte è sostanzialmente un noir ambientato in uno squallido Texas profondo e in cui la legge proprio non esiste (anzi, non è presa in considerazione): a volte la trama zoppica un po’ e il concetto di “agente del caos” è ancora grezzo. La parte finale è un puro thriller ed è la parte migliore del film.

Il commento Girato da un’israeliana e da una iraniana (!), parla di una judoka iraniana a cui viene ordinato di ritirarsi da una competizione per non scontrarsi con un’atleta israeliana. A parte l’aspetto politico (che rende il film, sostanzialmente, un thriller molto teso) ho trovato la parte sportiva girata molto bene e mi ha esaltato un sacco, pur fregandomene abbastanza zero di judo.
